Taoyuan, the city next to Taipei, is having a rapid urban sprawl dispersed to everywhere. The unique landscape of agricultural ponds is therefore being challenged during the process of urbanization. This master thesis is a research on the issues of water, landscape and urban dispersion of Taoyuan Metropolitan Area. It is also a project that proposes to reuse the existing pond system as the structure to guide the new urbanization.
